Hello Everyone,
Homework has been posted on the Hapara Workspace- entitled Prime & Composite Numbers. Again if your child should have questions about the homework please have them email me. As well attached is the student schedule for presenting the upcoming book report-
Schedule

This past week we have discussed the skills students will need in the 21st century and those that will help them fulfill our Catholic Graduate Expectations. The following "6C's" are skills that students should have the opportunity to practice and develop throughout the activities and learning within the class.

From that discussion, students decided to develop their creativity, collaboration, and communication skills by creating "How To"  mini projects around the addition and subtraction fo decimals.
Some students created a poster, some developed a rap song and infused technology to strengthen their mini projects. We will use these "How To" tools in the class as references in our learning.

In Literacy, we finished our read Aloud Iqbal and were shocked to learn that Iqbal Masih's voice against Child Labour was silenced at the age of 12.  If you have a moment please take a look at the article about the life of Iqbal Masih.

Inspired by the courage of Iqbal to use his voice to create change and persuade others to join him in the fight against Child Labour, students have begun the beginning stages of writing persuasive pieces around areas they feel strongly about. We have uncovered the parts of a persuasive piece of writing and have discussed some strategies that help create a strong persuasive piece.
